Text you convert

Conversion runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The text you type or paste, and any .txt file you open, is not sent to our server and is not stored by us. Your browser keeps the last text you typed in local storage on your own device so it is still there when you come back. Press the Clear button or clear your browser data to remove it.

Thanglish and voice typing

These optional features use services provided by Google. When Thanglish typing is on, each English word you finish is sent to Google Input Tools to get the Tamil spelling. When you use voice typing in browsers such as Chrome, your speech is processed by the browser's speech service. Turn these features off if you do not want this.

Fonts

The site loads the Inter and Noto Sans Tamil fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser requests these files from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of the request. After the first visit the fonts are stored on your device.

Contact form

If you send a message, we store your name, email, subject, message, IP address, browser details and the time, so we can reply and prevent spam. We do not sell this information. Ask us through the contact page if you want your message deleted.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web server may record basic request data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time. This is used for security and to fix problems.

Cookies and storage

The site uses browser storage for your theme, last font, typing settings and last text. The contact page uses a session cookie for spam protection. The installable app uses a service worker to save pages and font maps on your device for offline use.

Advertising and analytics

We may show ads from third parties such as Google AdSense and use analytics to understand traffic. These providers may use cookies to show relevant ads and measure visits, following their own privacy policies. You can manage personalised ads in your Google ad settings.

Children

The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
